Bingo. Twiddling my fingers for almost an hour and there was a pop-up window behind ALL the other windows on the screen waiting for a click. smh
Intel Driver is stuck installing
I saw that I had two driver updates available through the Intel Driver and Support app, so I clicked on it and downloaded the two driver updates. Then I clicked on install on only one of them (which was an accident really, but I didn't think it mattered), and now it's stuck on installing. It says "in progress" with a loading wheel to the left of it. It hasn't changed or anything at all and I have no clue how to fix it. I haven't found anything on the internet for it either. I don't want to shut down/restart my pc in fear of messing something up, but I can't cancel the installation or make it unfreeze.
Edit: fixed it lol. I ended up just uninstalling Intel Driver and Support, and the unistalled force stopped the driver installation.

2024-02-28T16:08:40+00:00 After a reboot I started the Driver & Support app again and then started an install. The install process kicked off a separate installer and the D&S app waits with the wheel turning. That is OK if the install app actually has a window and you notice it is waiting for you to respond. Unfortunately Windows 10, and possibly Windows 11, doesn't push the new window to the foreground and if you don't realise it is there you simply see the D&S 'in progress'. Before I rebooted there was possibly (probably?) an install app on the machine but I couldn't find a window for it so couldn't tell it to continue the install.
The real problem is probably that the D&S app waits indefinitely for the install to complete and maybe it needs to prompt after a time to tell the user to check the install app and respond to prompts or say it isn't running.

2024-01-12T20:46:52+00:00 Hey man. I know this is old but this is for the people who might find this thread. On the left there should be a "refresh results" option. WARNING DO NOT PRESS THIS YET!!!! After you have waited at least 10 minutes or a safe estimated time for download completion now you may refresh and it should show update installation completed ;]. Hope this helps future visitors

2023-09-04T23:16:38+00:00 Hi John,
I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.
You can manually download and install the driver from the Intel Support website instead of using the Intel Support Assistant. Just search for the driver that you want to download and update from the link below.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.
