Paul, I fixed it! I went to System/Sound/Choose where to play sound. It only showed the regular speakers so I clicked on 'pair a new device' and re-booted my Right aid....the Add Device screen never showed the hearing aid, BUT a Headphones button appeared behind that screen under the Speakers button. I clicked on the Headphones button and that did it. Still doesn't show the right thing in the actual Bluetooth settings...but I don't care!

Yes, my hearing devices are phonaks and indeed the problem occurred after a windows update. When I bought my computer (with windows 11 installed) it was properly connecting to my hearing devices. After I had the first windows 11 update installed it was finished.

Help from Microsoft is like usually non existing.

Linda, I was having the same issue as you and the other people on this post. My Phonak Audeo P90's would pair in the "Bluetooth" settings but would not "connect". Like you suggested, I tried going into the "Sound" settings and paring there but my Phonak Audeo P90's would not show up (while in paring mode). I thought maybe my phone was "locking" the hearing aids so I turned my phone off but they still would not show up when they were in pairing mode. So I went into the "Bluetooth" settings and "removed the device". I then switched back into the "Sound" settings and "Added Device" there. BINGO, they connected (and stayed connected... previously they would "temporarily" connect for about 30 seconds and then drop). Thank you for the post. I hope this clarification helps some of the other people here.

This is what the "Sound" setting screen should look like after "Pairing" your hearing aids. I don't have the "Input" set to my hearing aids in this screen shot.

it pairs, and says it's connected, but it is not. was sketchy, so I rebooted the computer and it did a big update...now it won't connect at all.. When it connects, it says "connected, mic, audio". now it just says "connected" and it's not.
