Issues with bluetooth speakers after I update to Windows 11

Hi,

My Bluetooth speaker "SAMSUNG HW-T42E/XL Dolby Digital 150 W" gets an issue of severe audio lag after I update to Windows 11. I faced this issue both with my personal laptop and office laptop. Doing some R&D online, things point me to the fact that the list of codecs supported in Windows 10 is a bit different from Windows 11, like the aptX code is said to be absent in Windows 11; is this true? if so, do you know if there any plan to make Windows 11 support this specific codec?

hey vithun i have found solution for our samsung t42e soundbar i found on reddit.

Well, I spent most of the day running around in circles trying to get my audio fixed on my soundbar after I upgraded to Windows 11. After a lot of searching, I found the fix that ended up working for me. Someone posted on the Windows forums this fix, so I copied it. Hope it helps anyone else who needs it. I did exactly what they typed, restarted my computer, and it worked. FYI, when I saved the file, I just saved it to the desktop, and it worked fine.

Here I will give you a step to enable the ApTX protocol through the registry. You can try to modify the registry to see if "hands-free mode" reappears.

    Steps:

    1. Right click on the desktop and select New - Notepad Document
    2. Copy and paste the following:
      Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BthA2dp\Parameters]
      "BluetoothAacEnable"=dword:00000000
    3. Set the document save file type to "All files" and name it AtpTX.reg.

Then double-click on the reg file to import the registry key and restart your computer to see if the Bluetooth headset works with hands-free.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs

    this fixed my problem

I will pass your question on to another consultant so that I can help.

    Thanks Mário Ferraz for responding.

I had tried all the steps mentioned here before, I already spent a lot of time using windows troubleshooting and unfortunately it didn't work. I had managed to fix this issue in by personal laptop by following this

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qr5o8x4LDQ&t=3s

and installed https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=100J9&fileId=3546946146&lwp=rt ; however, I can't do that on my office laptop, nor do I see that as a proper fix.

    (A) Does Windows 11 support any CLI command using within I can explore the supported codecs (Codes supported by the laptop and codes supported by the connected device)? , worst case is an API available that can do that (I am bad with 'C', I am good with Python/Java/JavaScript if an API binder is available)

    (B) Do you know if Windows 11 has any known limitations with any existing codecs? I don't know which codec my windows 10 was using, but it had worked properly; switching to aptX based on the link above seems to work for windows 11, so [1] either it is the case that the codec that used to work previously became slow in Windows 11, or [2] it could be that case that that codec that used to work in 10 doesn't work/absent in windows 11 (aptX/AAC).

I saw this tool, https://www.bluetoothgoodies.com/tweaker/ for question (A).. but I would rather write my own code than trust a software from an unknown vendor.

    Let me know your comments.

I did a wireshark packet capture, if anyone is interested, please let me know I can individually share the file.
