How do I connect my PC to TV in Windows 11 using HDMI? In Windows 10 I simply connected the HDMI cable and the PC detected the TV as a monitor, but Windows 11 does not detect the TV. Can anyone tell me how to do this with Windows 11?

Hi! Thanks for your reply, I did find the answer later on the internet, and as long as the computer and the tv are compatible, and I wouldn't know why they wouldn't be, I found the answer.

Make sure your TV is on HDMI (whatever port you've hooked it to) and then press that WIN+P and choose EXTEND DISPLAYS. Then I pressed ENTER and it worked! After that, then I was able to adjust to default display, etc. :)

Did anyone ever get an answer to this? I have the same problem and followed the same steps as everyone else.

Here is an article by Mr Andre Da Costa mentioning the same i.e. there is no additional step to use external display with windows 11.

A GPU is a graphical processing unit and is different from cpu. If you right click on start button and click on device manager the gpu will be listed under Display adapters.

An issue with the driver of these components can cause the external screen to not be detected so it is a good idea to reinstall the driver for this.

I am the person who originally posted the question. I never did find an HDMI solution. What I finally did was to buy a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter for the TV. My computer didn't have WIFI, so I also had to get a WIFI adapter for it. Most computers these days have built-in WIFI, so that would not be necessary. That solution has worked superbly, and I believe you would be happy with it.
