Does this mean i need UAC on?I have it disabled for accessibility reasons.I was using microsoft store fine before windows update, 1 month ago(still had UAC disabled that time).Apps, that are already installed still open normaly.I tryed play minecraft but it gets stuck on sign in screen , tryed reinstall but gets stuck on update/download screen showing 0 kb downloaded,0 internet speed.I don't have other games from store to test.I tryed minecraft from microsoft store and this message The network is not present or has not started. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800704c6).

Hello and thank you for helping.

Unfortunately i can't enable UAC.I am quadriplegic , as a result i can't use mouse or keyboard.Instead i use a headtracking software called "smile mouse" (it turns head movements into mouse movements).Problem is that when UAC pop-ups appear , the software stops working and can't click anything so i have to keep it disabled.

I tried download from microsoft store at my other pc in same network and it totally works but on my laptop which i have the problem still doesn't.

I opened the Settings app, clicked on "Apps" but couldn't find microsoft store anywhere ,although i managed to reset microsoft store but problem not fixed.

I run the System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Service and Management Tool (DISM) to check and repair system files. It seemed to find some corrupted files and fixed them but problem not fixed again.

    Hi pankaps,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble downloading apps and games from the Microsoft Store. The error code 0x800704C6 usually indicates a network problem that prevents you from downloading or updating apps. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Regarding User Account Control (UAC), it is generally recommended to have UAC enabled for security reasons, and some apps may require it to be enabled to function properly.

    • Try another Connection: If possible, try connecting to a different network to see if the issue persists.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store: Open the Settings app, click on "Apps," find the Microsoft Store app, click on it, and then click on "Advanced options." Scroll down and click on "Reset." This will reset the Microsoft Store app to its default settings and may help resolve the issue.
    • System File Checker (SFC) and DISM: Run the System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Service and Management Tool (DISM) to check and repair system files. Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Hopefully, one of these steps will resolve the issue. If not, please let me know, and we can explore other solutions.

    Your Sincerely

Hahn - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
