I'm having similar issues I've noticed today where the PC randomly freezes. Never used to do this. I've already uninstalled this update so whatever it messed with has really broken my PC.
KB5036893 update issues
Files and folders on the desktop stopped opening after clicking. They open eventually but after a long delay of 5 minutes!
After that, everything goes back to normal.
So now after booting the computer I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to work?

2024-04-19T23:33:04+00:00 This update does not install. I keep getting the message "Something did not go as planned," which makes me think the update may be corrupted. Can Microsoft resend it?

2024-04-18T02:01:31+00:00 I had the same issue with 5036893. Once the update was installed the taskbar would not load after a reboot. Even the "view installed update" in Program and Features app would not load. I used the command line option in the terminal to uninstall this update and then the taskbar started showing after a restart. Terrible quality control by Microsoft. At least the systems tools that allow us to rollback should work if the updates fail to install correctly. Thinking of switching to a different OS after this horrible experience.

2024-04-16T11:55:45+00:00 Same sort of issue here on my Dad’s laptop… Task bar doesn’t load, can’t run any programs from the “run new task” button… roll back the update and it works again… I’ve tried installing the update manually from the MS website and it makes no difference. Appears to have happened on last months update too. I rolled that back and delayed the updates again (until this month). I don’t know if it will let me delay any more updates…
