Cannot upload or download files after windows update

Every time I try uploading files the firefox is crashing. I tried different browsers but no use. Today I am unable to download any files too. This happened after I updated my system 2 days back. I tried the following commands from previous posts.

sfc/Scannow

I found CBS.log. Then I tried DISM/Online/Cleanup-Image/CheckHealth. But I am getting error 87. I tried booting in safe mode and ran sfc/Scannow. This time I found no log but the problem persists. I am unable to download or upload anything. Even small file the browser is crashing.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm now having this exact same problem after updating the windows a week or so ago. It started with issues uploading things to gmail and I thought it was a gmail issue, but it's not happening with uploads and downloads on all browsers and on different emails (yahoo and multiple different gmail accounts).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Microsoft has begun implementing and releasing Optional preview updates that are typically released on the 3rd or 4th week of every month. These updates allow admins to test the patch before its mandatory launch on Patch Tuesday (2nd week of the month). If you are not experiencing any issues with your system, there is no need to install the preview update.

Please try uninstalling the recent March Preview KB5035942 update if it helps.

I recommend using the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the preview update. Windows Update won’t install hidden updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try to hide the Cumulative Update Preview (KB5035942) that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

Thank you for your response. Yes I think it is recent march update. I have been using my system in hibernation for long time and then updated and restarted 3 days back.

When I see in windows update it is showing the following.

2024-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5035942). So I think it is the march update.
