Need help with network controller in device manager showing code 28

I'm using a Acer nitro 5, AN515-52-796M. My WIFI and Bluetooth adaptor seems to not be working, settings show no WIFI network and that Bluetooth is turned off.

When checking device manager, I see a "network controller" under other devices. The properties page says it has no drivers (code 28 in properties page). When clicking update driver, "search automatically" does not automatically install any drivers, telling me to check with windows update, which also has nothing. When i click let me pick, there is a whole list of different items, including Audio input and outputs, batteries, and a bunch of other stuff. Im at a loss to what to click or if installing anything else will cause an error

I have tried installing the intel driver from Acer's AN515-52 support page, ran the install exe, and rebooted my computer, but it still doesn't work.

I've also tried uninstalling it and letting windows reinstall it, Power cycling my laptop, resetting windows through settings (keeping my files in the D drive).

I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer, my laptop is hobbled without wifi and Bluetooth capability, thank you.

Fixed it! gonna explain the steps so someone with the same issue can try this

Read somewhere that a code 10 can be fixed by resetting bios. I'm using a acer so I entered BIOS, loaded the default settings, exited while saving changes. Laptop boots up and the AC 9560 (network controller) is working fine now.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help Robinson, Probably couldn't have done it without you identifying the right driver. Do let me know if there's any way I can leave a rating for you or something like that.

There is a new version of the Intel Wireless-AC 9560 driver on the Intel website released on 4/9/2024. You can use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant from this link to install the latest version of the Wireless and Bluetooth driver automatically.

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support...

If the Intel Driver & Support Assistant cannot install the driver automatically, you can do it manually at these links.

    -Wi-Fi driver:

    -Bluetooth driver:

The driver should have been installed automatically. The failure in the driver installation could indicate a corruption of the Windows installation or a hardware issue.

First, select the first option and check if the driver will be installed successfully.

If the installation fails again, you can use the Media Creation Tool to perform the repair upgrade. This procedure will repair all Windows files, apps, services, and registry keys.

    1-Download the media creation tool.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

2-Run the tool and select “Upgrade this pc now”

3-Select the option “Keep all my files and apps”

    4-Then click to update.

If both procedure fails and the driver installation still fails, the problem could be deeper in the Windows installation and a clean installation of Windows could be the only fix.

You can see at this link how to perform a clean installation of Windows.

Note: Before performing the clean installation of Windows, you need to back up all your important files to another drive. This procedure will delete everything from your computer and cannot be undone.

I tried using the first link and it says install failed. The other 2 links seems to have no visible effect, even after rebooting. If I go to device manager> rght click on the network controller>update driver>browse my computer for drivers>let me pick from an available list of drivers on my computer> select network adaptors>Intel corporation> I see a few AC-9560 drivers I can choose from, should I try any of these?
