I'm Najib, I'm using Windows 11 on Lenovo V15 Gen2, the cursor just stopped working. In an effort to ring that back, I couldn't even insert my PIN to unlock ut, the error shown is "Something happened and your PIN isn't available". I tried resetting the PC through boot option>advanced settings. But it doesn't work. When I run rstrui.exe on the command prompt it says I need to specify the windows installation to reset. Please assist me.

Maybe how I can select the windows installation to restore can help me.

If you're blocked by an error or a password in the Windows Recovery Environment, please use another computer to create a bootable USB drive containing the Windows installation. This USB can then be used to run repair tools on your affected computer.

You will need an empty USB with at least 8GB of space and a working PC.

You can create using the media creation tool, download it on this link(Create a USB device with an installation image): https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/win...

How to Create Windows 11 Bootable USB Installation Media: https://www.elevenforum.com/t/create-windows-11...

    On your affected PC:

Insert the USB(Windows 11 Bootable USB Installation Media)

Go to BIOS/UEFI and change to boot from the USB device.

On the installation screen click on "Repair your PC" in the left bottom.

Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Try all the available options. Thank you.

The error message is "To use system restore you must specify which windows installation to restore".

When I try restoring offline using command prompt, it reads" System restore could not find the offline boot volume".

I'm out of ideas, it doesn't run check disk either. And when I boot it, the PIN input doesn't show.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. If you try a system restore from that page, what's the error message or code? Or do you simply not have a restore point? Thank you.

    Thank you for reaching out.

These are the only available options I'm having. I can't find start up settings. I've tried all these option but neither of it worked. The System Image Recovery is the only thing left for me to try.

Hi Najib. My name is Lester, and I am an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. I'd be more than happy to assist you.

What other options have you tried in the Windows Environment besides PC Reset?

If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest starting your PC in Safe Mode or performing a System Restore to see if it helps:

At the sign-in screen, press and hold Shift, then click Power and select Restart.

Next, navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.

After restart, choose option 4 or press F4 for Safe Mode.

Click Troubleshoot > Advanced Option > System Restore

Select a restore point before the issue.

I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. Thank you
