Hello, this is Emily.
If you go to Settings > Personalization > Themes, click on "Desktop icon settings". In the pop up, any chance the User Files option is checked? If that's the case, uncheck it, and click on Apply. See if that resolves the issue.

Hi,
I bought a new laptop with Windows 11, and all of my user folders are appearing on the desktop (Music, Videos, Pictures, Downloads, Desktop...). The filepaths are correct ( C\Uses\username\music, C\Uses\username\videos etc..) but the folders appearing on the desktop are not shortcuts.
When I tried to move them to the bin, they didn't disappear from the desktop, but they disappeared from the actual location, so I had to bring them back.
Any idea of how to remove them?

I ended up resetting my Windows and setting it up fresh, and that seemed to help. Looks like something went wrong during the original installation of Windows
