Right-click a JSON file, select Open with, and then select the program (e.g. Notepad) that you want to be the default for opening that file type. Be sure to click the Always button. There should be no need to touch the registry directly.
I Cant open .JSON files
Whenever i try to open a JSON file, it opens up eset sysinspector. why does that happen and can i make it not do that:(

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
Understanding that you don't want to automatically use eset sysinspector to run when you open a JSON file, you can press Win + R to open the Run window, type regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor. Go to the following registry path:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jsonThen delete the entire .json folder in its entirety, which allows the system to forget about the default open method it once had, and then you can just recreate the new open link.
