I have a iBuyPower pc, the slate mesh 8, i7 14700, 32 GB ram, 4060 TI.

I cannot get it to turn off the screen. I do believe it is something to do with the account because this issue has followed me from my last machine, which was an hp omen 815 I think (i7 9700). I am at my wits end trying to figure out what is keeping it from turning the screens off. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Under the Windows 11 settings -->power I have screen and sleep set to 2 and 5 minutes respectively. I opened admin cmd prompt and have nothing listed when I use the command powercfg /requests (all say None.). I went through the old control panel to get the advanced settings, up, I have allow wake timers - disable, usb selective suspend setting - enabled, turn off display - 2 minutes. Please let me know if you ahve any ideas on where I can find the setting to fix this.

Thank you for the good information here. i was actually just logging in to post that I had found the culprit. It is a several year old USB joystick. I have pulled that out and now it goes to sleep correctly and I jsut have to figure out which setting I chaged to make it not wake up from sleep. Thanks again.

I've solved the problem on mine by turning off malawarebytes and cc cleaner which were running in the background

    Hello

It sounds like you've already taken several steps to troubleshoot the issue with your monitors not turning off in Windows 11. Since you've checked power settings, CMD commands, and advanced settings, here are a few additional suggestions you can try:

    1. **Check Graphics Driver Settings**: Make sure your graphics card drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated or corrupted drivers can cause issues with power management. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (NVIDIA for GeForce GTX 4060 Ti) to download and install the latest drivers.
    2. **Check BIOS Settings**: Access your computer's BIOS settings and look for any power management options related to display or sleep settings. Ensure that there are no settings in the BIOS that may be preventing the monitors from turning off.
    3. **Disable Background Apps**: Some background apps or processes may prevent the computer from entering sleep mode. Try disabling or closing unnecessary background apps and processes to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. **Run Power Troubleshooter**: Windows includes a built-in Power troubleshooter that can help identify and fix power-related issues. To run the troubleshooter, go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Power > Run the troubleshooter.
    5. **Check for External Factors**: Make sure there are no external factors preventing the monitors from entering sleep mode, such as connected USB devices, network activity, or running applications that may be keeping the system awake.
    6. **Test in Safe Mode**: Boot your computer into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the monitors turn off properly in Safe Mode, it may indicate that a third-party software or driver is causing the problem.
    7. **Reset Power Plans**: Resetting your power plans to default settings may help resolve any configuration issues. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Change plan settings > Restore default settings for this plan.
