Hello. Would this be a older mechinical hard drive? Was the hard disk a internal sata disk? As long as the hard drive is not bitlocked by bitlocker you should be okay. If Yes it is a older hard drive they can have a need for a lot more power than what the usb adaptor "dongle" is providing it. You would want to buy a sata docking station. You can buy any brand, but this is the one I own. It has to be plugged into the AC power + usb cable. The computer would need to have the correct usb label on it. Also on the computer the USB color would be blue or red not black.
make sure it is a sata disk not a sas disk.
Its the toshiba video v300 1tb hard drive. I got it from my DVR as the recordings has gotten full on it and want to clear it. I dont think it is old as i cant tell
Hi ,
I am Ivan, I will help you with this.
Connect the USB Adapter to the HD, open the disk manager and see if a disk drive is recognized.
Take a screenshot and post it here if so.
