I’m having the same issue right right now. I’m on the Internet and I’ll even film it so approve it and I’m not connected to ethernet. I’m on Wi-Fi Internet and yeah sure is on there. Airplane mode on airplanes right there in the corner and I’m scrolling in the Internet I’m on YouTube watching videos, so I don’t know what to do or what’s going on with that why this is happening it seems like I can’t get it to turn off no matter what I need to do no matter what I do could you please guide me into understand what this is what this means I’m not metered or something or this even count being on the Internet, ever since my modem, and my Network was changed with the cable one or Sparklight. They came out and put new modem in and Wi-Fi and everything was changed running weird he said I don’t have anymore. They didn’t give me two Wi-Fi connections. I get 2.5 and 5G give me one I think there’s a reason behind that , I’m not a person or anything. I’m not sure how to do that. I’m saying I don’t know how to do those things. I never learned. I could have someone tell me what the way to get them. I don’t want this 2.5. It’s really slow. It’s not really really slow, but it’s lower than what you expect and it takes a long time to get things done so anyone can help. Please let me know because airplane is definitely on my Internet that’s happening , so you let me know please thank you very much

    Hello, Brock Ward

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you're experiencing a bit of confusion with your Wi-Fi and airplane mode settings. Let me clarify a few things for you:

    Airplane Mode and Wi-Fi:

    • Airplane mode is designed to disable all wireless communications from your device to comply with airline regulations. However, modern devices allow Wi-Fi to be turned back on while airplane mode is still active. This is why you can still browse the internet and watch videos on YouTube even when airplane mode is showing as 'on'.
    • If you want to completely disable Wi-Fi while in airplane mode, you should manually turn off the Wi-Fi after switching to airplane mode.

    2.5GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi Bands:

    • The 2.5GHz band provides a longer range and better penetration through walls but at slower speeds.
    • The 5GHz band offers faster speeds and is less prone to interference from other devices, but it has a shorter range and is not as good at penetrating walls.

If you're experiencing slow internet speeds on the 2.5GHz band, it might be worth checking if your device supports the 5GHz band and switching to it for better performance. However, if your device or router only supports 2.5GHz, you may need to consider other factors that could be affecting your speed, such as signal interference, distance from the router, or physical obstructions.

One best thing Airplane Mode can do and that most people don't know is that it can fix network problems in a smartphone by turning it back on for a few seconds and then off :)
