How do I rename and change which drive is my primary/system/boot driver?

I have an MSI Z87 G65 Mobo with an Intel i5 4 core CPU with three storage drives. My C drive is on a 300G Intel ssd and my other 2 are a 1T and a 2T Toshiba hhd. While doing my initial setup I left my 1T drive unable to be utilized due to me not populating/allocating? it. I can see the drive listed when I open Sytem manager, but I am not totally sure how to activate it. I would like to get help on what the proper method and how to set up my drives properly. I partitioned my C drive using Aiomi Disk part tool included with the repair and recovery USB I used to restore Windows 10 Pro from a BSOD . The USB is not being recognized to boot even after resetting the boot order in BIOS and I do not go with "pretty good idea" on anything I work on. My PC is used 90% of the time as a racing sim , my devices are; Logitech G920 FFB racing wheel and a handbrake. I am using an AMD Radeon RX50 8G with 32G RAM with 2@ 55" LG LED L,R screens and a Vizio 47" LED center. What would be the best way for me to get my drives setup in this situation? I need all three up because I need all the space for downloads. Thanks for any and all help in advance. I know how to follow any instructions given exactly. Please advise, I am needing my racing fix.

    Hello, Jovial Mobius

Welcome to the Microsoft Support community.

I noticed you want to change your drive setup like change boot drive and allocate your spare hard drive, right?

The easiest way to change the boot drive for every day user would be to use Windows installation media to install a new Windows to new Drive.

This way you can see boot selection menu during boot up to let you choose the different Windows you have on your device.

and reinstall third-party application like game there----- You can reimport them if you have local game file in most of the case.

In your case, since you have one SSD only it is not recommended to move your system to another device as SSD is much faster that HDD in most of the case therefore it is ideal for system drive. Plus, you have a 300GB SSD which should be enough for system drive as long as you download those big game to another drive.

If you do not have many experience the build in drive partitioner for Windows would be ok for you despite do not have many advance features compared to some paid software:

    1. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.

    1. In the left pane, under Storage, select Disk Management.
    2. Right-click an unallocated region on your hard disk, and then select New Simple Volume.
    3. Enter the size of the volume you want to create in megabytes (MB), and then select Next.

--- For other option you can pretty much left with default one. If you have any doubt, feel free to ask me in this post.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Regards

Hello, sounds like you are making the Windows install media, right?

If it is convenient please give me a screenshot like which step are you in.

You just follow the instructions. When it says the media certation is finished you could safely eject from the system notification area usually.

    Best Regards

Man , thanks for the directions it clarified the steps I was looking for. Now I have to deal with the boot spiral of death. I am bringing my little creation to life for the 3rd time. What a great academic trek, lots of new knowledge. I think its a UEFI/Legacy issue now. More knowledge. I am open for all advice and guidance you have time to give me. Thanks again.
