Error code: 0xC004F074

I bought an hp PC 6 months ago with genuine windows 11 pre-installed. However, after 6-months of trouble-free use, I have got the following message (in red color) in Settings->System->Activation.

we cant activate windows on this device as we cant connect to your organiztions activation server. make sure you are connected to your organizations network and try again. if you continue having problems with activation, contact our organizations support person. This message is shown to me in activation window also the troubleshoot is not working as well as inserting my product key.

Activate Windows is displayed as water-mark at the bottom right corner.

I don't find any product key on the back side of my computer.

Hi, Akhilesh. I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

Usually, this message is shown when you are using a non-genuine version of Windows.

1-Right-click on Start then click on Windows PowerShell(admin)

2-Type this command and press Enter:

    slmgr /dlv

3-Then a pop-up window will open with your license information

If in the "Description" is shown "VOLUME_KMS", this indicates that you are using a non-genuine version of Windows. The "Volume" license is focused on business, governmental or educational institutions.

You will need to contact the seller and check which license type came pre-installed on these computers. If the computers were used by a company and came pre-installed with a "Volume" license you will need to purchase a new Windows license to activate Windows. This license type cannot be transferred.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

Was the device brand new when you bought it. The message suggests a volume licence is being used. Illegal for a personal user.

Is it Windows 11 Home or Pro edition? Open Terminal (Admin) and enter slmgr /dlv [press return] post back a screenshot of the result. Or quote the Description licence type. is it Volume, OEM or Retail.

If it is Pro edition did it come with Pro edition or was it Home. Has it been to a repair shop or has someone re-installed windows for you?

The device was brand new and windows was not reinstalled. Windows 11 was pre-installed when I purchased.

The output of the command "slmgr /dlv" is attached.

Your screenshot confirms a volume licence for Pro edition.

You have an embedded key in the bios as per your other reply so get ShowKeyPlus from the Store and enter that key into Check edition. If that confirms Windows 11 Home then you will have to clean install windows to get the correct edition.

And no windows does not change activation on its own.

Thank you very much for your response. I am using genuine windows which came with this brand new PC. I am using it for last 6 months. The problem started yesterday. The PC is personal one and I am not using for any organization.

Did it automatically changed to volume license?

In the Settings->System->Activation the partial license is T83GX.

However, when I use the following command

    wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey

    The last 5-alpha-numbers are GVKC3.
