Whenever I run the xbox app, it will load for a few seconds before closing itself out. I've tried some fixes like reinstalling it, reinstalling game bar/gaming services, updating, troubleshoots, and sfc /scannow.

Here is the error I got in event viewer:

    Hello joe shmo1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

You are experiencing that when you run the Xbox application, it all loads for a few seconds and then closes on its own. And you've tried fixes such as reinstalling it, reinstalling the game bar/game service, updates, troubleshooting, and sfc /scannow, but it hasn't actually solved your problem.

    • How long have you had this problem?
    • Was there any event on your computer when you had the problem? For example, a hardware replacement, a system upgrade?

You can try the following steps:

    1. Create a new account: Please create a new test account, and switch to the newly created account to see if Xbox application is working as normal. This troubleshooting step can help isolate the problem due to an invalid profile configuration.  Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support
    2. Try an in-place installation: Disclaimer: Let’s try performing an in-place install or in-place upgrade which will refresh your Windows files and operating system without removing files or applications. That being said, we always recommend that if you have important data, you should back it up before making large system changes. If you want to back up your data first, please do so. Once you are done backing up, you can follow the steps in the following guides:  How to perform an In-place Upgrade with Windows 10 Step-by-Step Guide - Microsoft Community****

The above steps are basic troubleshooting steps that will help narrow down where the problem is occurring. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best wishes

    Hello joe shmo1,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

I'm delighted to hear that the in-place upgrade worked for you and that you've been able to resolve the issue that you've been struggling with for so long.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance with anything else, feel free to ask.

    Best wishes
