How to remove Antimalware Service Executable

The scan renders my computer completely useless. I am requesting support from MS to get this removed, refund the cost of this computer, or I will be filing a small claims case in Harris County. This is ridiculous that it consumes soo much memory and completely cripples the computer.

Hi Chance, hope you're doing well. I'm Ian, and I'm happy to help you today.

Please see steps below to Disable the Antimalware Executable

    1. Open the Start Menu, then type Windows Security. Select the first option.
    2. Find Virus & threat protection on the sidebar.
    3. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click the Manage Settings option.
    4. Toggle the Real-time threat protection button to off.

This is a user-to-user support forum, and I am a fellow user.

I hope this helps, but please let me know if you need anything else.

Thank you for your efforts. Windows and Defender are terrible and nothing works. I have tried everything and Antimalware Service Executable still slows down my computer for basic things where the PC is completely unusable. Crazy these days a $1,000 computer cant run software or games I played 20 yrs ago.

According to the in-line description for the Real-Time Protection toggle, it clearly states that the antimalware executable will turn itself back on after a short period, so this "fix" is not a fix at all. The only solution is apparently to disable Windows Defender and leave your computer vulnerable just so you can avoid the massive memory drain caused by this program.

This is starting to become really, annoyingly ridiculous.

The web is now full of happy amateurs with one fanciful recipe after the other, and some even trying to make money off of it. Seriously? This ridiculous mal-functional "protection" creates more problems than it tries to protect us from.

Surely Microsoft must show us how to turn it off, disable it or even totally remove it, with just an ordinary setting, without having to copy and paste all sorts of commands all over the place, If it's as impossible as it looks like, make sure to issue an update that makes it so.
