Welcome to Microsoft community.
To find your Windows 10 product key, you typically won't be able to find it "online" in the sense of looking it up on a website, due to security and privacy reasons. However, if you're trying to retrieve the product key from your current installation of Windows 10, there are several methods you can use. Here are a few ways to find your Windows 10 product key:
Using the Command Prompt
You can use the Command Prompt to reveal the product key associated with your Windows installation:
- Press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the menu.
- Type the following command and press Enter:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
This command should display the product key. If it doesn't, it's possible that your key is embedded in the UEFI firmware and not accessible through this method.
Using PowerShell
Similar to the Command Prompt, you can also use PowerShell to find your product key:
- Press Windows key + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
- Enter the following command and press Enter:
powershell "(Get-WmiObject -query ‘select * from SoftwareLicensingService’).OA3xOriginalProductKey"
Check Your Microsoft Account
If you purchased Windows 10 digitally, the product key would be associated with your Microsoft account:
- Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in.
- Navigate to Services & subscriptions.
- Look for your Windows purchase. The product key might be listed here or under the device details for the device associated with this copy of Windows.
Check Your Email or Retail Packaging
If you bought Windows 10 online, check your email for a receipt that may contain the product key. If you purchased a physical copy, the product key would likely be on a sticker in or on the box.
If your computer came with Windows 10 pre-installed, it likely uses a digital license instead of a 25-character product key. A digital license (called a digital entitlement in Windows 10, Version 1511) is a method of activation in Windows 10 that doesn't require you to enter a product key.
If you need to reinstall Windows 10 on the same machine, the digital license should automatically activate Windows. You can check your activation status by going to Settings > Update & Security > Activation.
Always be cautious and use secure and reputable sources when downloading software to find your product key.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes.
Best regards
