Im using a brand new lenovo laptop with windows 11. No third-party software installed. There's also no external monitors connected but just the internal display. There is no significant issue in perfromance, except that I notice some text and typing I do in MS word are glitching. I still cant confirm if these issues are related. But the issue is that everytime I boot my laptop, the "second screen only" options becomes the default and I have to change it to internal display (PC screen) everytime just so the display resolution and scale isn't grayed out. I find it absurd as most laptops had theirs set as "PC screen only" by default so it got me thinking if there were some settings were altered in my system without me knowing.
I need help with my Display Settings. Display 1 isn't active.
I don't know if this is a big problem or not.
But recently I just checked my display settings. Take note that I have not changed any settings prior.
On the first instance I checked my display settings and on Advanced Display, it says that Display 1 isn't active(Display 1 is connected to my integrated graphics and I assume this to be the default setting). I have no external monitors connected just my laptop. On Windows + P, it says second screen only and I dont know why. This makes my scale and display resolution settings grayed out and unchangeable as well.
Changing it to PC screen solves the problem.
However, every time I turn on my system or restart it, the display settings always show that its on second screen, showing that the Display 1 isn't active. It seems to me that this has become the default and my system cannot identify my internal display. Please help me.

Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Generally speaking, if you are not using an external monitor, the "second screen only" prompt will not appear. We suggest you try the following options first:
Try to repair the system
- Search for CMD, find the command prompt, and choose to run in administrator mode.
- Enter the following commands one by one, and be sure to execute the next command after the previous one is completed. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth SFC /Scannow
- After the scan is complete, you can check the scan information to see if the problem has been detected and fixed.
In addition, you can check if your Lenovo computer has the official Lenovo optimization software turned on, if so, please try to turn it off
Sincerely

Thanks for the response. I did all the steps. Everything was scanned successfully and no errors has been detected nor fixed. This didn't fix the problem either after restarting the system. Though this particular issue did not have any direct effects in my system's performance, I do find it troubling that my internal display cannot be detected but is functioning normally as expected. I hope forum topics can expand their experiences on this issue if they ever experience it.

Welcome to Microsoft Community.
We understand that you are experiencing an issue with your monitor prompting inactive. What interface cable are you using (HDMI or Dp)? Have you recently downloaded any third party software?
We suggest that you can start by adjusting the display output on your monitor, i.e. adjusting the order of the HDMI and DP outputs, after which you can visit the website:Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
Download Intel Software Scan Update
