I have Windows 11 home and am trying to encrypt a usb drive for my computer. however Windows 11 Home does not have bitlocker. All information I find regarding password protecting my usb drive on Windows 11 home tells me to go to "device encryption" under the "privacy and security" tab in the settings. However, that does not appear on my computer either. Why is data encryption not on my computer and is there any other way to password-protect my usb drive or a file?

The man asks a question and all you provide is a canned/ copied response ? that is of NO help at all. So here is the question again. How do you password protect a USB in Windows 11 Home edition ? apparently bitlocker is not available. don't send a copied and pasted answer, actually tell me how, step by step. Actually provide some support instead of mindless robotic responses.

To check if Device encryption is supported on your device, you need go to Start Menu Windows Key > All apps > Windows Tools. Right click on System Information and select Run as administrator. When the System Information window opens, on System Summary, scroll down and locate Device Encryption Support. If it’s Value is Meets prerequisites, then you can enable Device Encryption on your system. Else, you can’t enable it as the feature will be entirely missing.
