Completely reset Lenovo computer without recovery key

I bought an already used Lenovo computer from the internet for university.
But when I started the pc, I saw that theres already an account on it.
So I wanted to reset the pc but when I pressed "reset the pc" they asked me for an recovery key.
I dont have that key because as I already said, the pc was originally not mine.

How can I bypass this to reset the pc or is there any other way to reset the pc.

The os is Windows and the pc is from Lenovo. I think its the ThinkCentre M80t.

Thanks

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That recovery key is a Bitlocker key for drive encryption, if the drive is encrypted you cannot reset Windows, the only way to remove that encryption is to clean install Windows from a bootable USB, and at the start of the installation, delete app partitions on the drive.

You will need an empty 8Gb USB flash drive.

    Click this link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS) to begin installing Windows 11

During the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 11 on this PC'.

If you have files on that PC you need to keep, you should back them up onto a USB drive before installing Windows too keep them safe.

Then when installing Windows, select 'Custom: Install Windows Only' and on the next window you need to delete all partitions on the drive to remove Bitlocker, then select the resulting 'Unallocated Space' and click 'Next' to begin the installation.

The method to boot from a USB varies from PC to PC.

Usually you have to go into BIOS, temporarily disable Secure Boot, set the USB as the primary boot device, save those settings and restart your PC.
