Just tried this - it no longer seems to work. Why not just put the feature back in? I and many probably millions of Windows users like to see all of the system tray icons and have none hidden.
Show all icons in the notification area (Windows 11) - permanently
I want to show all icons in the notification area in Windows 11. This was simple in Windows 10. You just chose to show all icons, and never had to think about it again.
In Windows 11, it seems like you have to manually turn on every single icon. Then when even a minor update is applied to an application, that icon is hidden again. This is terrible, and there is absolutely no reason to try to hide information from users intentionally. Does Microsoft really think that I turned on an icon, but there was a minor update, so I no longer want to see it?
How can I change the default behavior to allow for icons to always be shown, no matter what?

2024-04-26T03:22:40+00:00 Unfortunately, that is not a solution. I've already tried that. When apps are updated, you have to go back in every time to manually turn on each one. So Nvidia, google drive, discord, etc... they all have to be manually turned on every time.
I don't understand why Microsoft is so intent on hiding those. They provide valuable information, as well as context actions.
Windows 10 was so easy. Just turn on hidden icons, then you never have to think about it again.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having an issue showing all icons on the taskbar. To do that, please right-click in the open space on the taskbar, then select Taskbar Settings > scroll down until you see "Other system tray icons," then click on it to expand > toggle off "Hidden icon menu" and then toggle all the apps listed below. I
Another thing is that if for example, you have multiple Excel or Word documents and you want to see all the icons for each file, you can click Taskbar Behaviors, then click the drop-down menu beside Combine Taskbar buttons and hide labels, then choose Never.
You may also try the steps below to always show all the icons in the System Tray or Notification area of Windows 11:
- Kindly press the Win key + R to open the Run prompt.
- Copy and paste the value below:
explorer shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
- Put a tick mark on the Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar checkbox.
- Click the OK button.
I hope this information can help you.
