My laptop was stolen and I am unable to lock the device remotely. If I try the "Find my Device" it shows the battery is 0% and I get the following message : We can’t locate this device since it hasn’t been used in the past 30 days.. Then when I try the "Lock" function I get the following message: "We can’t lock your device right now". Please can you assist with problem.

Thank you

    Hi Dave

Thank you for your answer. So although its showing me the message it cannot lock, it will lock automatically when turned on.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you have selected the Lock option on your account on the 'Find My Device' page, if your device appears online, it will be locked automatically, however, sadly if whoever stole the device has wiped the drive and clean installed Widows, then that device will no longer be traceable.

Yes, that is correct, your device has been marked for locking, so if it appears on the Internet, it will be locked automatically.
