Dell Laptop Webcam Not Working

Hello. My Dell laptop webcam have not been working for months on the windows camera app, and social media apps such as Whatsapp and Telegram. But it does work on Google Chrome (tried it on Google Meet), and works on Zoom as well.

I have checked the permissions to allow camera, and its enabled on all of them. But the camera just does not load. I have also tried checking the drivers for updates, deleting camera in device manager and reinstalling it, none of them worked.

I need to know if anyone else struggles with this and if there is a solution.
And if necessary here is my error code for the camera app on windows when it can't start my camera:

0xA00F429E<PageOpenFailed> (0x80131505)

Thank you!

My name is Jonathan Deives. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

Some laptop models have a camera on/off key or a protective cover on the camera. See if your model has any of these.

You can follow these solutions too:

    Open Device Manager

Expand cameras > Right click on your camera > Uninstall

Restart the laptop to reinstall the camera and test to see if the problem persists.

    Hello!

I have tried all of the solutions in the link provided and none of them worked, unfortunately.

I don't have a protective cover or an on/off key either, the camera works perfectly on Zoom Video and Google Meet, but cannot work in other apps like Whatsapp or the Camera app even though permission is enabled :(

Hi, I did try running Support Assist for individual component check for camera. The test ran for a very long time, since the camera cannot load at all, and at the end it gave the error code "Cannot create the video capture device (hr=0x80070005)".

I am using a different laptop, Inspiron 3511, but I will ask on Dell Community as well! Thank you!

Do you have and use Dell Support Assist? If you have it have you run it to see what it shows?

You can check the Dell Community too for help. Ask others who have the same computer as you have. I have two Dell Laptops, an Inspiron 5558 and a XPS 15 7590. If you have one of these let me know and I'll check mine to see if they have that problem.
