My Wi-Fi driver cannot start with a Code 10 and then a Code 45, and I keep getting a "Please wait" screen when I boot up my PC.

I cannot use my Wi-Fi for some reason. I'm getting the following errors in Device Manager with my Wi-Fi adapter: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." and then "Currently, this hardware device is connected to the computer (COde 45). To fix this problem, reconnect the hardware device to the computer." once I restart my PC. This is a built-in Wi-Fi adapter because I have an ASUS TUF GAMING B650 PLUS.

I also keep getting a black screen with a spinning loading circle and then a blue screen that says "Please wait" with another loading circle whenever I start up my PC. This did not happen before, and it makes startup take longer.

I tried to do a System Restore. My last restore point was yesterday, so I used that. However, that did not fix any of my issues. How can I fix this problem? I tried to uninstall the MediaTek wifi adapter multiple times, but I'm still getting this issue. Am I uninstalling it incorrectly or something?

Hi, good day! I'm John Dev a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Have you tried to download and install the latest Wireless driver from the manufacturer's support page?

What is the exact model of your ASUS motherboard? Upon checking ASUS TUF GAMING B650 PLUS specifications, it does not have a built-in Wi-Fi.

For the meantime, please try the method below.

    **Open Device Manager

    Expand the Network adapters

Find the Wireless driver in the list

Right click it and select Update

Click "Browse my computer for driver software"

Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"

Make sure to put a check mark "Show compatible hardware"

Select an older driver from the list

Click Next then restart your computer

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

My bad, my motherboard is the ASUS TUF GAMING B650-Plus WiFi; I forgot to include the WiFi part. I tried to download the latest driver, but that did not work. However, I was able to somehow resolve this issue by going into the BIOS settings and disabling and enabling the WiFi Controller. Do you think that this may have damaged my PC hardware or software or Windows install at all, or does it seem okay now? Thank you!
