Launch Error with Dead By Daylight

This problem has only occured the other day which is why I'm very confused and worried. All of my other steam games that I have tested all work and correctly boot up. However, when I loaded up Dead by Daylight for a minute, before closing out the game and playing a different game with friends, when I tried to open up and play Dead by Daylight it keeps giving me an error upon the Easy Anti Cheat loadup. I have never cheated once before in Dead by Daylight so I doubt it could be that, but I am just in general confused. Any help would be awesome.

    Dear Darhyl,

Thank you very much for your solution to the problem.
I am afraid to say that the solution mentioned did not work, as I think it is a problem with dependencies.
Perhaps installing the game in the main drive (c:) might solve the problem, or the developers need to fix the issue.
One more thing I want to address, while following the steps mentioned above a user can unintentionally damage the windows and program file instead of running a faulty game.

    Regards,
    Fahad Bin Emran

Installed on main drive from xbox gamepass. Easy anti-cheat still says it's the wrong version.

    "Unknown file version (DeadByDaylight-WinGDK-Shipping.exe)"

    Reinstalled game:No go

Removed wireless Razor mouse: No go.

Deleted EAC file repaired game file: No go.

    Checked permissions: Entry file corrupted.

Went through overly complex solution that really appears to be an issue that needs to be resolved by dev team: No go.

EAC DbD support page: 404 not found.

    Dear Shawn,

I have also faced the same problem. Installing the game in main drive (c:) solves the problem. In case if you face the same problem from other games, try to install the application in the main drive.

    Best regards,

    Fahad

    Hey Shawn!

Nice to meet you! I'm Darhyl, an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Dead by Daylight on Steam.

Kindly try to perform the following workarounds according to a user Old Habits Die Hard from this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussio...

"Here's what you should have done, and if you haven't or didn't then I would follow these steps exactly to make sure:

    1. Open command prompt as admin and enter:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    1. Wait for it to complete.
    2. Assuming no errors or issues found then in same admin command prompt enter:

    SFC /scannow

    1. Wait for it to complete. If anything is found, restart system.
    2. Open command prompt as admin and enter:

    sfc /scannow

    1. Wait for it to complete. If anything is found, reboot and run command again.
    2. Repeat until it find no problems or errors.

Next thing I would suggest doing is the following:

Go to this folder ~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist

Inside you'll find these 4 folders:

    2010

    2013

2015 <--You're going to skip this folder

    2019

One at a time go into each folder start at 2010 then inside each one (as admin) run these files and choose repair option

    vcredist_x64.exe

    and then

    vcredist_x86.exe

Back out of that folder, go into the next one and repeat until you've done all 3 folders *2010 / 2013 / 2019*

Once those are done go to this folder: ~Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

    As admin run:

    DXSETUP.exe

Accept, and click next a couple of times and let it do its thing..

Edit: Just noticed that they took out 2008 from there so when done use search or whatever to open add/remove programs and look for:

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables

Pick each one and select the repair option.

When done restart system and see if that'll do the trick."

If the issue remains, I highly recommend you reach out to Steam Support for further assistance as they have the tools and resources to properly investigate this case:
