I cannot upgrade to Windows 11 Pro

My Alienware Aurora R16 was shipped with Windows 11 Home OEM

I have upgraded in the Microsoft Windows Store to Windows 11 Pro (order #1095833526) on April 8th

Today, May 3rd, I have reinstalled Windows but the version which was installed is the Home edition.

I am trying to upgrade from Home to Pro in the Windows Store but I get an error saying

Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade.

I run sfc /scannow and couldn't find any issue. I have just run the Windows update and I have all the latest updates.

Please help!

P.S. Also I don't have any Windows key, in the email from Microsoft it was only mentioned that I paid. I assumed my license is linked with my Microsoft Account, which I used also during the installation and that I will automatically install Windows 11 Pro.

Have you recently changed hardware on your device? If this does not work, perform a Clean Installation of Windows 11 Pro.

Download the Media Creation tool (Click Download tool now). Use the tool to "Create installation media (USB flash drive at least 8GB in size) to install Windows 11". Instructions inside the link.

Note: Please make sure to uncheck the "Use the recommended options for this PC" box.

Please try checking the link below for more details.

Insert the USB Installation media into your computer. Please change the boot order in the Bios Settings. Boot your PC from the Installation Media you created.

Kindly refer to the link below on How to perform a Clean Installation of Windows 11

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

Meanwhile I have contacted Microsoft Support. They checked my registry and they found mentioned Windows 11 Core. They also told me I need a different ISO for installation. So in case other unhappy souls found this, the solution is to create an installation media using the Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for x64 devices)
