Hello all,

Ive recently updated my PC to Windows 11 and as a result, my audio quality has significantly worsened on my airpods pro. Before this, on Windows 10, they worked perfectly and audio quality was great. now all of a sudden they have worsened drastically. Ive tried everything, disabled the microphone, downloaded new drivers, updated my pc, restarted, disconnected and reconnected them, and Ive done just about everything that ive seen online, but to no avail.

I would appreciate help with this, as Ive been trying to fix this for hours now. Ive attached screenshots of my current settings.

Thanks.

    Dear ascen_999,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

I'm genuinely sorry to learn about the difficulties you're encountering with your AirPods Pro on Windows 11. It's frustrating when technology doesn't seamlessly sync up as expected. Let's work together to troubleshoot and find a solution for you.

Here are some potential fixes that may help improve your AirPods Pro experience on Windows 11:

    1. Adjust Sound Settings:
Right-click on the sound icon located in the bottom right corner of your screen and select "Sound Settings."
Under the "Input" section, ensure that "Headset AirPods Pro" is selected.
Click on the arrow to view the format options and consider changing it from the default setting of "one channel 16-bit telephone quality" to another format. This adjustment could enhance the sound quality of your speakers.
    2. Disable Audio Enhancements and Spatial Sound: If you're experiencing audio quality issues or glitches, try turning off any audio enhancements and spatial sound features. These settings can sometimes interfere with the smooth functioning of your AirPods Pro on Windows 11. You can turn it off under System > Sound > Input > Properties page of the headphones device.
    3. Roll Back to Windows 10 (if applicable): Given that you recently upgraded to Windows 11, and if it hasn't been more than 10 days since the upgrade, you could consider rolling back to Windows 10 temporarily. This rollback might help identify if the issue stems from compatibility problems between Windows 11 and your headset.
    4. Consider Using an External USB Bluetooth Adapter: Investing in an external USB Bluetooth adapter could potentially improve the audio quality of your AirPods Pro when connected to your PC or laptop. While this solution may require a modest investment, it could be worthwhile if it significantly enhances your audio experience.

If you've exhausted these troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, it's possible there's a compatibility issue between your AirPods Pro and Windows 11. In such cases, I recommend providing feedback to Apple about your experience. They can use this feedback to enhance the connectivity experience between devices through firmware updates.

Thank you sincerely for your patience and understanding throughout this process. If there are any additional concerns or questions you'd like to address, please don't hesitate to let me know in your reply. I'm here to assist you further.

    Warm regards,

Martin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
