Thanks, but that didn't work. RaceRender gives the same error dialog "Unrecognized or unsupported file format". Note that I uninstalled the Microsoft HEVC extension before installing the codec pack.
Windows 11 HEVC/H265 problems
I'm unable to load any H265 videos into RaceRender on Windows 11. This includes videos from any source, such as GoPro, https://test-videos.co.uk/bigbuckbunny/mp4-h265, or videos converted to H265 with ffmpeg. I get the error message shown below. The problem does not happen on an older Windows 10 system.
The Microsoft HEVC codec has been paid for and reinstalled several times, with reboots in between. The OS is up-to-date.
I'm aware of all relevant information on answers.microsoft.com, including https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/is-hevc-still-supported-on-windows-11/9f34ff18-36a5-4661-9809-59e171894814, and none are of any help. I'm able to load and play H265 videos on Windows Media Player (the Windows 11 version and legacy version), VLC, Shotcut, and others, which I could do before I paid money and installed the codec. I bought it specifically for RaceRender, but the codec appears to have absolutely no effect.
From RaceRender support:
I went ahead and got a Windows 11 machine with RaceRender running, and I was able to load H.265 video fine, though I did end up using a Microsoft troubleshooting article, as like yourself, when I initially purchased and installed the codec pack, it did not work. This is the article I used.I ended up needing to install it a couple of times before it***took,***whatever that means in this context. I would also ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Failing that though if the codec is installed and functioning, RaceRender will use it, so I would get in touch with Microsoft support if you need further assistance. If it is installed correctly, Windows Media Player should also be able to play the video too, so that's something worth testing as well.

If it's a video, try converting or exporting it into .MP4 or .MOV format.

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.
Try installing k-lite codec pack and then set media player classic as default player and test again. It worked with another user.
