5ghz wifi won't connect to internet

Hello! I am having an issue with my local 5ghz connection showing as "connected with no internet". I have an ASUS router set as a wired access point linked to another fiber modem/router to help boost wifi to a specific area of the house. The computer will connect to the main router (weakly), and the ASUS router 2.4ghz connection, but when it connects to the 5ghz it says "no internet". It works on all other devices. I have tried resetting both computer and router systems, setting the google default ipv4 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 connections, and putting the computer mac address into the router specifically. I've also tried shutting off the computer firewalls to connect and emptying the DNS cache on the computer. Below is a picture of the connection. It appears to show the correct connection speeds but with no connection.

So I discovered the issue, in case anyone else runs across this. One of my display cables was an HDMI->displayport conversion cable. Whenever that monitor was plugged in, it severely restricted my ability to connect to the 5ghz band on any router. Once I switched cables (or displays), it worked completely fine!

But have you moved your computer close to the main router?

I’m able to connect my laptop and phone to both routers without difficulty, and I’m also not able to connect the computer to a 5ghz connection from my main router even after the access point is disconnected. This issue persisted after I did a factory reset of the device.

    Hi,

turn off the second router that acts as an Access Point, temporarily move the computer close to the main router and see if it connects regularly to the 5 GHz network, in which case the problem is on your home network and we are not able to help you with this here . I suggest you contact Asus Support.
