Security Update for SQL Server 2017 RTM GDR (KB5029375)” with the error (0x80070643)

I'm no longer using SQL server and I uninstalled it. But I'm having the Security Update for SQL Server error.

I followed the instructions for this issue (Issue with failed installation of Security Update for SQL Server 2022 RTM GDR (KB5029379) on Windows 11 - Microsoft Q&A) and it is not working. Just in case, I don't have an antivirus apart from Windows Defender, so I ignored the part of disabling the antivirus, but I did disable the firewall.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you no longer have SQL Server installed on your PC, then you do not need that update, the best option would be to us the Microsoft Show/Hide tool to hide that update to stop Windows continually trying to install the update.

Also, to protect your system, it is best to re-enable the Firewall.
