Chrome taking most of the CPU and RAM resource

Hi,

As many people already know Chrome taking most of the resources but it has gone insanely further than this, it's now taking more than 50% of CPU as well as 4GB of RAM from my system.

I have switched off Hardware acceleration

I have switched off Preloading

Basically any setting which could cause to put load on system through chrome still taking this much resources is insane

I tried switching to Edge but it showed similar results, I don't know why.

I have to use my PC for Designing and Animation which makes it difficult for other software like After Effects and Photoshop to run.

My PC Specs;:

CPU: Core i3 3240T 2.90GHz

RAM: 12GB 1333MHz

Drives: 512 GB SSD / 500 GB HDD

Motherboard IMP61-T8

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Performance and system failures

I'm glad you've found the cause of the high resource of your Google Chrome!

Thank you for the information. Yes Youtube could be one of the reasons why the RAM usage increases especially if you have multiple Youtube tabs opened.

Another thing to look for is your extensions, try disabling one-by-one to see if one of those causes the high RAM usage.

I see, have you monitored when does the browser uses a lot of resources?

And as I've suggested previously, is this happening to any website you're accessing or just certain websites?

Also can you try a non-Chromium browser like Firefox and see if the issue will still persists?

    Hi Thanks for your response,

I access most of these sites below:

    Youtube

    Discord

    Trading View

    Binance and other Crypto Exchanges

    ChatGPT

    Whatsapp

These sites I often access, most of time left them open and Hibernate my PC

    would Hibernating cause this issue?

I understand you need help with you Google Chrome taking most CPU and memory resource.

May I know if this is happening when accessing video streaming websites like Youtube? These websites use resources and could be the cause.

Can you try a non-Chromium browser like Firefox and see if the issue will still persists?
