* Duplicate of: Link for Windows - Turn OFF Notifications

I love this APP however it is so annoying.

On my Windows 10 PC and Samsung S23Pro it constantly get notifications telling me it is connected. If I turn off notifications the phone stops being connected.

What am I doing wrong?

It is now a choice being having the connection on and being driven insane of disconnecting it permanently

Hi, My name is Ahmet, and I am an Independent Advisor. I hope you're well, I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. I'd be more than happy to assist you.

    Manage Windows 10 Notifications

    Open Windows Settings:

Click on the Start menu and click on the Settings gear icon.

Go to System > Notifications and actions:

Click System in the left-hand menu.

Select the Notifications and actions tab.

    Manage Application Notifications:

In the Notifications section, make sure that "Receive notifications" is turned on.

Scroll down and find the "Link for Windows" or "Your Phone" app.

Click on it to configure the notification settings for this app.

    Customization:

Turn off the "Show notifications" option. This will only turn off the display of notifications from this app, it will not disconnect it.

You can disable other types of unwanted notifications, for example:

"Show app icons in the taskbar"

    "Show notifications in Action Center"

    "Show notifications on lock screen"

    Managing Phone Notifications

Open the Link to Windows App:

Open the Link to Windows app on your Samsung S23Pro phone.

    Go to the Settings section:

Within the app, click the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner and select Settings.

    Manage Notification Settings:

Go to the Notifications section and customize how notifications are managed here. In particular, you can turn off in-app notifications or notifications about connection status.

    Check Windows Defender Firewall Settings

    Open Windows Firewall:

Click on the Start menu, type "Windows Firewall" and select it.

    Go to Advanced Settings:

Click Advanced Settings in the left-hand menu.

    Check the Outbound Rules section:

Click on Outgoing Rules and check the rules related to "Your Phone" or "Connection for Windows".

Here you can block notifications without interrupting the app's access to the internet.

    Resume Connection Permanently

How to Synchronize Between Phone and PC:

Make sure the connection settings are set correctly on both devices.

Make sure your phone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Manage Apps Running in the Background:

Allow the Link to Windows app to run in the background on both devices.

In Windows 10, go to Settings > Privacy > Background apps to allow the Your Phone app to run in the background.

By following these steps, you can turn off unnecessary notifications from the "Link to Windows" app and improve your user experience without disconnecting.

Let me know how it goes and hopefully it will help.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Yours sincerely,

    Ahmet
