Hello! My name is David N. and I am a Microsoft Community Independent Advisor and Windows fan. I will be happy to assist you with your issue.

This sort of thing is a very stressful issue. Don't worry, I can help.

First, you need to change your passwords. Do you have a phone, tablet, or other device that can log into your Google accounts? If so, use that to change your password for everything that you can get into. If you already have other devices set up that can access these accounts disconnect the PC immediately to stop the hacking. However, if you have to set up Google on another device you may need this computer to confirm that the other device is allowed to do this. This is what is stopping the hackers now.

If you have to, log in for the first time on a trustworthy device. Google will want to verify using your computer. Use your phone number or another device if at all possible. If you have to, verify on the computer, but be very careful to make sure that you are verifying *your* login, not an attempt by the hacker.

If you can reset your passwords without the machine that is hacked, or once they are changed, disconnect it from the Internet. This will stop the hacking.

Make the new passwords good ones. Write them down. Hackers cannot see passwords you write on paper. If you are worried about people around you, keep them somewhere safe (your wallet next to your credit cards is one option), but make sure that you do not forget them. This sort of thing makes resetting your passwords difficult at times, so once you have a new good password the hackers do not know you do not want to have to change it again.

Do this with any services that you can think of, not just Google. Google is the most popular with hackers, but they might go after something else such as your Microsoft accounts. Do it with Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, anything you can.You may want to send warnings to your friends that you have been hacked and to not trust messages from you for a bit.

Next, we need to get these hackers locked out of your machine.

First, you want to clean your machine with Microsoft Defender offline. Here are the detailed instructions which you should read on your phone or another device that is not compromised.

First, using a different computer, download the file here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=212732. Copy it to a USB drive and move it to the hacked machine. Run it and let it fix everything that it can find.

Next, read these instructions on a different device so that you stay offline. Follow them to run Windows Defender offline:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hel...

While I cannot recommend third-party tools, there are reputable antivirus/antimalware programs out there that you can run next to be more sure. Names include McAfee, Malwarebytes, Antivir, Norton, and others. Use another machine to download one or two, copy them to a USB drive, and install them on the new computer.

NOTE: These tools are not provided by Microsoft. I cannot advise you as to which ones to use and cannot guarantee their effectiveness, safety, or the websites from which you might download them. If you are uncertain you can get the advice of a friend or someone at the local computer shop.

If you install these, run them, but do not allow them to run continuously to protect you. You should only have one antivirus running at one time, or they can conflict and even report each other as viruses.

Once you have done all of this your computer should be clean unless one of these tools says otherwise.

Next, reset your firewall in case they left holes in it to get back in.

    1. Click Start, then type "windows security". Open Windows Security.
    2. Open Firewall and Network protection.
    3. Click "Restore firewalls to default".

This should do the job. FIrst we got the computer offline as quickly as possible to keep the hackers out. Then we locked them out of your accounts. Then we cleaned the machine as thoroughly as we could. And lastly we locked the firewall back down.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if this resolves your issue or if you require additional assistance.

    Regards,

    David N.

It says to disconnect from your wifi if a person believes they have been compromised? Not sure if it means when not in use or for a short duration after changing passwords?

    Thank you
