I recently got my Pc and everything seems to work fine but i have an issue with the windows update troubleshooter. I use the troubleshooter and it comes up with Check Windows Update Issues Detected. I go in to the further description of the issue and it says Problem with BITS NET HELPMSG 2182. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException. Everything seems to work fine, all my updates work fine its just annoying not knowing what issue could be wrong with my PC. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i saw where a MS tech said to start the bits service and make sure it is set to manual.

i have tried with it stopped and running and the final windows 10 update still will not update.

have ran all the command prompt commands after starting as admin. none worked and still cannot update final update before win 11.

also stopped auto updates in services and deleted update fills inside the right folder, and restarted auto update in services and same thing

update did not install and had same old error message as reported by all of us when it failed. at this point i have downloaded win 11 iso and will

burn to a flash drive in a few days when it gets here from amazon Thursday may 9th and just reinstall everything and replace all my book marks in Firefox log back into them save passwords, well you get the picture, what a pain to have to do this in such a manor because Microsoft lost the ability to make an auto update health repair exe to do the work. i miss the good ole days when Microsoft made thing so much more simple for us.

Hi, Ryan. I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

The error "NET HELPMSG 2182" means "The requested service has already been started", this error message is shown because the update troubleshooter is trying to start a service that is already running.

If you are not having any problems with the Windows Update, you can safely ignore this error message.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

You don't need to make any changes.

Some Windows functions use the BITS service, which is why the was already running when the troubleshooter tried to start it, this is normal and you don't need to worry about it.
