never roll back your device drivers bad move right from the start.
as it lead to problems in itself.
your best to to uninstall the device driver from device manager for that component then restart your computer and allow Microsoft to set it up and configure their version first and if it can not find the device driver then you have to install the device driver from the manufacturers website or from the motherboard disc if you have it.
If Microsoft has its own version installed then you should see what your laptop manufacture has to offer use that if necessary to ensure the device like network runs correctly.
Most Network cards use intel device drivers so head to their for the latest version they have and use it Microsoft occasionally has more up to date but usually their is decade old especially if Nvidia graphics is installed they use 456 version so old now.
Overall you need to see if your laptop crashes are related to over heating first and foremost otherwise your wasting your time rolling back uninstalling reinstall stuff.
Then you have to check if its not your internet connection dropping out and in between your home and the servers you connect to for the ISP provider during update that can also cause your issue as well things like storms interrupt the connection and slow things down to even slightest power drip can lead to all sorts of issues.
So keep these things in mind.
- do i have reliable power source during operating my system and updating (have i connect my power plug to my laptop and keep it on during the update and restart etc)
- is my internet connection stable and not intermitting during the use of my laptop including while download and updating etc
- Is my laptop fans working and set correctly to adjust to keep my laptop at operating temperature in the bios etc.
- is my laptop air vents clear of dust etc
- is my laptop devices function right (ie ram, dvd drivers etc)
- Have i install my device drivers in the correct order and do i have the correct device driver software
- am i using the right operating system version for my laptop not the desktop version
- are my third party software install right and not conflicting with other apps and or the operating system version (online game etc)
- Has my operating system developed errors over time due to incorrectly shutting down or due to nasty hackers, virus etc.
- is my laptop wearing out what can i do to find out (take to computer repair shop and get their advice if you suspect it maybe also get second opinion if you do not trust the first computer repair shop advice)
- If in doubt get a second computer and check your Windows settings, services and test third party software to see if the problem occurs on that including connect USB etc.
- when all else fails complete clean install that means wiping the hard drive of all its files and including redoing the partitions table and try new installation of Windows operating system.
- Also else does not work save your money and buy a new laptop.
