Microsoft PC Manager UK!

Hi again, I have been waiting for the PC Manager to come into the "Store" for weeks now. I am in the UK and I have been told it is only available in certain regions. I did actually download it a few weeks ago from a third party site. Although it worked fine I decided to wait until it was available in the store etc. I read a post yesterday saying change your "Region" in set up which I did to USA. It was a nice surprise to find it in the store!! Although I put my region back to normal everything seems OK. Just a couple of questions to put my mind at rest. First did I do right? Also it is version 3.3.19.0 is that the latest?

    Thank you for your loving!

Yes, 3.3.19 is the latest stable build.

The Beta build is being deprecated and will not receive updates in the future, so please use the stable build instead.

PC Manager started rolling out an Insider Program in some regions to take the place of the Beta build. In the Insider Program, PC Manager is testing the 3.9 ver.

It is not recommend to use PC Manager by changing your region setting because PC Manager may transmit your data out of the EU, which doesn't suits the GDPR. If you continue using, it stands you have understood this.

    Hope this helps!

    Ah that's from https://pcmanager.microsoft.com/en-us/ :)

It seems that PC Manager isn't separated by if offline or not. PC Manager will need to contact with the remote server to get carbon emissions reduction data, toolbox kits, cache cleaning app icons, and so on.

"Offline" was used to distinguish the installers, but it is no longer used because PC Manager is installed from Ms store now.

It may takes a long time before the PCM team figure out how to make PCM suits the Europe's Data Protection policies (like what you see at the 2nd paragraph, the remote server isn't in EU now), and PCM will not officially available at European markets until this problem get solved - you still can get it from the other markets, and your report is valuable to them if there's anything wrong with PCM's functions.

    Hope this helps ☺️

Hi again, still not in UK store yet! Also my USA version does not show the "Discord" server like your image! I had to click on link you sent me! This seems a long drawn out saga that's gone on for weeks. The version I have got now is 3.9.3.0 is that a "Offline" version ?

Hi John, thanks for all that info and much appreciated. It seems like a lot of people have been asking the same question! It was just by chance I read about "changing the region" on one of your forums. Like I said in my post once downloaded I reverted back to the UK. It just felt better than getting it from a unknown source etc. A friend of mine has done the same, the only difference is the version number is different. Is this normal as we are both on Windows 10 22H2 ? At present there are various Microsoft links to the store, it opens in the store but no "Get" button!

    Thanks again Brian

Hi Brian, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I'm glad to hear that you've found a workaround to download PC Manager by changing your region settings to the USA. However, I fully understand your concern.

While this method worked for you, it's not the recommended practice unless you are relocating permanently or for an extended period. It’s always best to access and download apps from the Microsoft Store that are intended for your region to ensure proper functionality and support. You can find more information on this at: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/c... However, I see no issue with your approach, as PC Manager will soon be available in all regions, it is just a matter of timing.

Regarding the version of PC Manager you have, 3.3.19.0, yes, that is the current public version of the Microsoft PC Manager app.

I really hope this information helps. Should you need further information please let me know.

    John J.D.
