You can't use the built-in Bluetooth to wake up the device; it doesn't work at all when the device sleeps.
There is nothing you can do to make it work, it is physically impossible.

Hi all,
I just finished building my first gaming PC (Windows 11). I am using an Xbox controller (Scuf Instinct) as the main instrument in my gaming. One thing I miss about consol gaming is the ability to wake the console with the controller. I seem to be unable to wake the PC from sleep by turning my controller on.
Is there something in the registry I can modify or add to enable the controller to wake the PC?
I have a MSI B760 gaming motherboard with integrated Intel bluetooth. In device manager the tic box for "Allow this device to wake PC" is greyed out.
It occurs to me now that my wireless keyboard and mouse (usb dongle) also do not wake the PC.
Id prefer not to leave it awake while I'm not playing so as to save on electricity.
Any tips?
Thanks in advance

Hi ,
When your computer goes into sleep or hibenation mode, your computer probably deactivates the Bluetooth Radio, so it is not possible, even if you try to enable it via the registry, the driver is not compatible, it depends on the driver and the motherboard.

To be clear: I am not using an Xbox USB dongle. The motherboard has a Bluetooth radio integrated into the board. So I am connected via that.
I have updated all drivers and the bios.
In Device Manger under the Intel Bluetooth device, the power management tab does not have the "wake this pc from sleep" enabled. It is greyed out and not clickable.
I'm trying to enable it in powershell (Administrator), but it says I don't have permission.
How do I not have permission if I am in powershell as Admin. Can I override this somehow?
Hi ,
I am Ivan, I will help you with this.
Well, some users have used the ERP function in the bios to initialize the connection in the background to wake up the PC, others say that there is a function in older versions of the Xbox Wireless controller dongles from version 1713.
At the moment, recent versions do not have this function, some users have used some third-party applications to wake up PC functions, however, if using the Bluetooth connection, not all drivers are directly compatible with this function.
