How do I set the default graphics card for EVERY APPLICATION with windows settings?

I have a laptop with an integrated AMD cpu with radeon graphics and a dedicated nvidia gtx 1650 but I would rather only have the integrated graphics be used when I set it to, for example: OBS, however windows automatically sets the GPU used to be integrated rather than dedicated, even though I have specified in nvidia control panel to use dedicated graphics.

NoëlL, did you ever find a solution to your request.

How to set the default GPU without having to add each application separately?

    thanks

If you want your laptop to use the NVIDIA GPU for everything by default (except specific apps you set otherwise), do this:

    1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel.

    • Go to Manage Display mode (see Screenshot 1).
    • Select NVIDIA GPU only (see Screenshot 2).
    • Click Apply in the bottom right corner.

This will force your laptop to always use the NVIDIA GPU for all apps—except those you manually set in Windows Graphics Settings.

If you want an app (like OBS) to use integrated graphics:

    • Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings (not pictured).
    • Add OBS, click Options, and set it to Power saving (which means integrated GPU).

    Tip:

    • When "NVIDIA GPU only" is selected, all apps will use the NVIDIA card unless you manually set them otherwise in Windows Graphics Settings.

Refer to the screenshots below for the exact steps in NVIDIA Control Panel!

I get all the way to Use the "Add an app" drop-down menu. The game I want to change the GPU setting is not there. Even using browsing it is not there. The game files are downloaded. If I go to my apps in settings it is there but if I follow your guide and try to use the "Add an app" it simply is not in that list.

Is there a solution for that? I have been searching but apparently I have found zero success.
