<100 Mbps on Gig network - Fixed?

I just upgraded to a new Windows 11 PC. Reused the same ethernet cable, but only got about 50 Mbps, where my Win10 got about 800. My PC is plugged into a dumb gig switch. The switch is plugged into one of the 4 ports on my Google Fiber router. I also have a Synology NAS with two NICS. The primary NIC is plugged into a second port on the Google Router. The secondary NIC (for redundancy, not aggregating) is plugged into the same switch as my PC. This has worked for years on my Win10 PC, but appears to create a loop with my Win11 PC. When I unplug the second NIC, my speed goes from 50 Mbps to 850. Why? If there's a security issue, shouldn't it stop it completely? What does Win11 do differently that it doesn't like the connection? My new NIC is a 2.5 gig NIC, but everything else is gigabit and the link indicates it's a gig link? Is the faster NIC just flooding the network and if so, why doesn't it effect the whole network?

I found my problem in my Google Fiber router. I had the old original router and when they started offering speeds over 1 gig they had to change how the managed the fiber. (A complicated process involving increasing the spectrum of frequencies on a single strand.) It meant the routers needed to be changed and in my case, the fiber jack. I tried using my own router, but found out that most STILL would not support the high speeds. Some weren't able to draw DHCP addresses, others, just choked. Even though I was only paying for 1 gig, it was coming in at 1.2 gig and I believe overwhelming my port. I tried plugging a 2.5 gig port on my PC directly into the jack and it worked. So, I went searching for a router that had a 2.5 gig WAN port AND a 2.5 gig LAN port. Most only have one or the other, which does little good. What good is 2.5 WAN if you have no LAN port to connect to? Anyway, I ended up with ASUS RT-AX88U Pro and it works wonderfully. A solid, 1.2 gig connection with no drops ever. Not sure if that's a "workaround" or not. It seems my GF connection was in "maintenance" until if got a router it could work with, so it reduced throughput. At least that's what I'm guessing. GF personnel didn't know what DHCP was, so no help.

I have the same exact issue, I set it on 1.0 gbps and it is set back to 100 mbps automatically.

Is there a workaround for this?
