I am unable to join Minecraft realms "stories" or view chat messages.

when I follow the link on the error message ("Oops! You need permissions first), it takes me to this page ( https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/family-online-safety/online-safety/manage-app-privacy-settings-xbox-one ) and says I cannot veiw my privacy settings because my parent doesnt allow it. however, I am the only person in my "family." I am also not able to change the settings on the website.

    It seems the issue is related to your account being set up as a child account with parental controls enabled, even though you are the only person managing the account. This is preventing you from joining Minecraft Realms and viewing chat messages.To resolve this, you need to change your account to an adult account without parental restrictions. Here are the steps:

    1. Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.
    2. Under the "Your info" section, check your birthdate. If it shows you are under 18 years old, you'll need to update your birthdate to be 18 or older.
    3. After updating your birthdate, go to xbox.com/settings and sign in again.
    4. Under the "Privacy & online safety" section, you should now be able to view and change your privacy settings, including enabling the "Join multiplayer games" and "You can create and join clubs" options.

    By changing your account to an adult account, you will have full control over your privacy and online safety settings, allowing you to join Minecraft Realms and view chat messages without restrictions.

    I did these steps but I still cant access realm stories. it still tells me I need to allow, "Creating and Joining Clubs". My account is over 18 and I am not apart of any family groups

    Hi, I have run into the same issue said in the initial post, I have tried your method and it didn't work for me as my birthday information is correct and I don't believe I'm under a child account, although unlike the original post I can access my privacy settings, can you or anyone help!?

    Hello, i figured out what worked for me and i had the same problem as you. i kept getting the same issue message and my birthday was also correct. It wasn't an isaue with the child account but one of the permission being blocked was access to parties and clubs and you have to select allow on your Microsoft account. It’s under your privacy and safety tab. Peace and Love✌️

    i had both correct and it still doesnt work
