Question on Windows 11 Pro and SSD Storage

Hello,

I'm on a limited budget, and I would like to buy a Thinkpad X1 Nano. I found one that is both new and costs a lot less than other X1 Nanos. I can see that its processor is older, but that doesn't bother me; however, its SSD storage is only 256 GB (please see specs below). Is that too little for Windows 11 Pro? Or will it become an issue if I do factory restores on the laptop? Is the 16GB of memory also too little?

My neighbor said not to buy anything less than 512 GB with Windows 11 because the operating system takes up a lot of space, but the price of the 512 Nano is more than I can afford.

I do not do graphics or gaming, but I use Microsoft Word for a lot of writing.

Thank you, Daffy D

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The Home and Pro versions of Windows use the exact same space on the drive, that is usually between 20GB - 30GB leaving 200GB+ of space for your apps and data, therefore 256Gb is plenty of space for any version of Windows 11, and 16GB of RAM is also plenty of RAM, the operating system will use approx. 4GB of RAM leaving 12GB of RAM for all your Apps, that device specifications is more than enough for Windows 11.
