When I click on a notification of an app like Google Drive in the phone link app it opens a search for that in Bing Seach. I dont want that. Where can I change it to go to the specific item in the notification in Google Drive instead?

This is in Windows 11 on Phone Link. It has nothing to do with my phone. What settings in Phone Link must be changed to stop redirecting to Bing Search? It should not do a search and should open the associated Web URL correctly in any browser. If I need to open a file on Google Drive, it should open the ULR where that exists, not start a search for Google Drive.
What atrocious help you gave. It doesn't seem like you understand what I am asking. You are a Support Specialist, yet you tell me to check the settings myself.

    Hi Werner777,

I apologize for any misunderstanding in my previous response. Thank you for your patience. Let's address the issue with Phone Link on Windows 11.

To prevent Phone Link from redirecting to Bing Search and ensure that it opens the associated web URLs correctly, you can try the following steps:

"1.Check Default Apps: Open Settings > Go to Apps or App Management > Find and select Default apps > Ensure that Google Drive is set as the default app for handling its own links 2.Try to look for Open by default or App links on Google Drive. 3.Clear Defaults for the Phone Link App:

On your Android phone, go to Settings > Apps > Your Phone Companion (or Link to Windows).

Under Open by default, clear any defaults that might be set for the Phone Link app. This might prompt you to choose the correct app when clicking on notifications next time."

I hope this helps. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

    Hi Werner777,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue where clicking on a notification in the Phone Link app redirects you to a Bing search instead of the specific item within the app like Google Drive. To resolve this, you might need to adjust the default settings for how links are handled within the app or your device's settings.

Change Default Search Engine in Browser:

    - If you're using a web browser (such as Microsoft Edge), check if it's set to use Bing as the default search engine. If so, you can change it to your preferred search engine.

    Check App Settings:

    - Review the default apps settings on your phone: Ensure that Google Drive is set as the default app for opening specific file types or links that you receive through notifications.

If the issue persists, consider report the problem via Feedback Hub. Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.

Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app - Microsoft Support

Please share the feedback link here after submitting as it will allow others on the forum to vote for your submission, including me. More votes will lead to more visibility and higher priority to the development team.

Remember to check both your browser settings and the app-specific settings to ensure that the correct behavior is configured. Hopefully, one of these steps will help resolve the issue!

    Your Sincerely
