Windows Wireless Display Adapter won't stay connected

Just installed the Miracast dongle on a projector. Have used this laptop with the same model dongle on a different projector, works fine. But this one disconnects after only an instant of being connected, so for example we cannot download the latest firmware even. Suggestions?

Microsoft does not care if we are having issues, they made their money and dropped us like a bad habit. Typical of Microsoft.

    Hello Shenmue37,

I was able to resolve my issue with my MS Display Adapters. My problem was due to a "Windows Update" that had created my problem. I was unable to specifically identify and remove the "Update". So... I needed to perform the following actions on my Windows 11 Surface Book.

    1. Back-up all my Data to OneDrive.
    2. Perform a COMPLETE Restore of my Windows 11 Surface Book.
    3. Run Windows Update and install ALL Current Updates.
    4. Install any current Firmware Updates for my MS Display Adapters.

This worked for me. It's time consuming, but it worked.

I pray it works for you. - Old PCGuy

Hello everyone, GPaMike here. I have been experiencing this same issue. On my Microsoft Display Adapter and my 2 ROKU TV's. One of my 2, Windows 11 SurfaceBooks will NOT connect to any of these devices. However, the other one WILL. Quite the paradox here. I can only figure, at some point in the last year, one of the Windows Updates created an issue connecting on one of my devices, but not the other.

I pray one of the Microsoft Advisors comes up with a solution. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hi. We already did that. Plus rebooted the laptop and rebooted the projector. The laptop has the latest Windows updates. We cannot connect to the Miracast dongle long enough to start it downloading the latest firmware. We know the dongle is working because it is showing the screen saying its network name and recommending the Wireless Display Adapter app (which of course we downloaded and have been using in all of this). We already looked at the link that you suggested, before we posted in this forum, along with the other steps above.
