Background Removal Problem

So I was trying to make changes to the background removal of my image in Photos by using the background brush tool, HOWEVER when I tried to save the image those changes never made it. In fact I tried to use every saving method possible to see if I can still preserve the change, NO, the image still remains the same, those changes never made it.

Someone please tell me how to fix this, I really need it.

(unfortunately i can't upload the screenshots i captured because, for some reason, they failed to upload)

Hi Bao, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

After making your changes, did you click on any of these three? (see the image below) There should be a mask that's like moving that highlights the background and you will have to choose from any of the three to apply your preferred effect on the masked area. Is that how you did it?
