Hello Michael Adofo
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
The details you have provided may not accurately determine your problem.
To avoid misinterpreting your problem, is your current computer malfunctioning and preventing sound playback, or was it accidentally muted and you don't know how to recover it? You can also provide a screenshot of the problem you are describing.
You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem first.
- Press the Mute key on your keyboard to toggle the mute volume. This key is usually located on the top row of the laptop keyboard.
- Click/tap the volume icon on the notification area of the taskbar and then select the playback device (if there are multiple devices) that you want to mute or unmute.
Click/tap the volume icon to toggle mute or unmute.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
Best regards
