Hi,

    Do this:

In regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar and set the Locked to 1. After a reboot, it should be resolved.

Thank you for that. It was already set to the value you mentioned but I changed it all the same. I also applied another fix I found from another thread so I'm not sure which of those two worked. In case anyone has the same problem, here's the other fix:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Then delete "AlwaysShowMenus", or set to zero.

I tried changing the wallpaper again after rebooting and the white bar wasn't there.

I was able to fix it from a thread about QTTabBar and/or ClassicShell
" navigate to the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser and delete the ITBar7Layout value."

    Hi,

So, I was having this same issue and couldn't find a definitive answer for it anywhere online. Then I started tweaking around and might have found the solution:

This bar would appear in File Explorer tabs which were open for a long time, randomly. When it did not appear, a white line was on it's place.

I just locked the menu bar to be always shown with a right click on it, then closed the File Explorer window. When I reopened File Explorer, the menu bar was gone and the white line too.

    Hope it helps.

Thank you for the solution, but unfortunately, this is a temporary fix. Once the system is restarted the white menu bar line reappears.

Has anyone found a permanent fix for this?
