Hey guys, I use Windows 10 on my ASUS laptop. The cursor on my laptop has disappeared and the keyboard is also not working. Only the power button works. When I connect a wireless keyboard on the laptop it also doesn't work, and when I take the USB cable and connect it, it only charges but it doesn't make any sound to show that the phone has connected. But the WiFi internet connects perfectly. So what is the problem? I need help, I am confused.

    Hi SiminkieM,

My name is Umar. I'm an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your laptop's cursor and keyboard. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

Sometimes a simple restart can resolve hardware issues. Hold down the power button until the laptop turns off, then turn it back on.

Check if the keyboard function keys (Fn + F6 or Fn + F9) are enabled to turn on the touchpad. Press these function key combinations to see if it enables the touchpad and cursor.

Booting into Safe Mode can help determine if the issue is software-related:

If you can get your keyboard and mouse working in Safe Mode, or by using an on-screen keyboard:

Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager".

Expand the "Keyboards" and "Mice and other pointing devices" sections.

Look for any devices with a yellow triangle or red X and try updating or reinstalling the drivers.

For specific instructions on the items listed above, kindly check the link below.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best Regards,

    Salfi Umar

    Hello. More info needed:

Please provide us with the model number. There are millions of Asus laptops and a model number will help. The model number is usally located on the bottom of the laptop on the bar code sticker. Check to see if you have a "FN" key some of these keys can disable touchpad. I have not seen one that disables the keyboard yet but maybe yours has that disable keyboard "fn" key. The mouse disapearing is a bit less important and can be fixed in a bit. The important task is getting the keyboard working. The good news is that the power button is working so hopefully it is a "fn" button. One test is to boot into BIOS ans see if the keyboard works +mouse works in BIOS. This will tell you for sure if it is a keyboard issue or a Windows issue.
