Where to find product key for Windows 11 Pro

I have a laptop with windows 11 home edition. I want to upgrade to windows 11 pro, so I bought it on microsoft's website. An email with the product key was supposed to arrive, but never did. Now I don't have the key, and can't activate it to make the upgrade.

Opening a support ticket didn't help. Now a bot keeps calling, saying something almost unintelligible and ignoring any options I dial in. I also tried the 3 (THREE) microsoft contact numbers in my country. None of them work.

How can I get the key for the expensive product I paid for? Or how can the email be actually sent?

Good day Lucas, thanks for your question. I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. If you purchased it from the Microsoft Store then you can and this is for Windows 11 Pro then you can use VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T as this is a generic retail key which will activate the digital entitlement for your purchase.

    Regards,

    Paul R.

Using a generic retail key to upgrade will go or should goo with the purchase that you made under your account since this is a digital purchase that will grant the digital entitlement and therefore if you will encounter an issue then you can try to reach out via the below to get the relevant team to check on your account.

    • Go to this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/home/contac... or or you can also launch the Get help app on your PC
    • Type in talk to support
    • Click on the blue button on the below part
    • Sign in/Log in when prompted and try to connect to an agent/support from there and kindly take note that it might take several attempts before you can get a hold of someone

This usually happens when the relevant team is unreachable or if the support agents are engaged and what you can also check is to ensure that you are logged in to the Microsoft Store with the correct account.

Support doesn't work. And trying to activate the generic key doesn't work either. It says there's no windows 11 pro license associated with my account. This may be a result of the microsoft account in my laptop being different then the one I bought the license with. I added the correct account to the laptop, but I'm not sure if that's enough.

Do I need to disconnect the unrelated account? How do I change this?

Thanks for the reply. Searching about generic keys, I understand the OS will upgrade to pro, but the license is still not active. This can go on for 30 days, after which features and customization will be limited, and licensing will be infringed. But if there is a license linked to my account on microsoft servers, it will be activated automatically.

Is this what I should do?
